  • 3 lbs russet potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 3 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter, for greasing
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • – Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter.
  • – In a large saucepan, combine heavy cream, milk, and minced garlic. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  • – Arrange a layer of potato slices at the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Season with salt and pepper.
  • – Pour a portion of the cream mixture over the potatoes. Sprinkle with a layer of cheddar and Parmesan cheese.
  • – Repeat layering with remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and cheeses until all ingredients are used, finishing with a cheese layer on top.
  • – Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour. Remove foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and potatoes are tender.
  • – Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
